After the Joker shot and crippled Bat girl (Barbara Gordon), effectively ending her career, Bat girl retreated to the clock tower where the Jokerâs assault occurred, and became the wheelchair-bound Oracle. John designed this image with the clock tower background as a foreshadowing to her dark future.
